KIEV, UKRAINE Our mission work with the Obolon Church of Christ in Kiev, Ukraine, began with Alan Madera working with university students in Kiev. Following him, Fred and Sharon Selby established a more permanent work at the Obolon location and worked with the brethren for three years. Bill and Susan Conkling followed them, but it became apparent that the congregation had reached a point of maturity where they no longer needed a missionary presence in the pulpit. Since 2000, Park Plaza has extended elder leadership mentoring and monetary help for the elderly. In 2006, the Obolon church leadership determined they were able to provide for the monetary needs of their church family. Park Plaza is now in the position of mentoring the church leaders until the time elders can be installed.
