Wes and Carrie Gotcher
Wes and Carrie Gotcher, along with nine other team members, are training with Continent of Great Cities to plant a church in Niteroi, Brazil. Niteroi (pronounced: neat-a-roy) is in the state of Rio de Janeiro, has a population of 1.5 million people and does not have a Church of Christ. The Niteroi team began training together in Dallas in January 2008 and will begin working in Brazil full time in October. Before departing for Brazil, Wes and Carrie will spend July - September in Tulsa working with Park Plaza and making final preparations. During their time with Park Plaza, Wes and Carrie plan to visit each of the classes and hope to prepare a preliminary plan for opportunities to partner with the Niteroi team through short term mission efforts. Upon arriving in Brazil, the team will focus on settlement, intensive language/culture study and refining the evangelism strategy during the first year in the field. The team looks forward to actively evangelizing and witnessing the Lord's harvest of fertile Brazilian hearts.
